Buenos Aires Streets Celebrate Nine Decades Of Their Greatest Emblem

The three stars representing Argentina's World Cup victories are projected onto the Obelisk during celebrations for the 90th anniversary of the Obelisk on Avenida Corrientes in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on May 23. Thousands of citizens and tourists gather on the iconic avenue, which is transformed into a pedestrian area for ''La Noche del Obelisco.'' The historic 67.5-meter-tall monument, designed by Alberto Prebisch and inaugurated in 1936, is illuminated as part of an event featuring 3D mapping shows, live music, and artistic recreations of the last nine decades of Argentine history.
