Eid Al-Adha Celebrate In Indonesia

Muslim worshippers gather for prayer to celebrate Eid al-Adha in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia, on May 27, 2026. Eid al-Adha is one of the two major Muslim holidays celebrated each year. It coincides with the annual Muslim pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, the holiest site in Islam. During the holiday, Muslims traditionally slaughter a sacrificial animal, commemorating a story about the prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son following a divine command in a dream. The meat from the sacrifice is typically divided into three parts: one for the family, one for friends and relatives, and one for those in need. (Photo by Adriana Adie/NurPhoto)
