Eid Al-Adha Celebrated In Kathmandu, Nepal
A Nepali Muslim offers prayers during Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakri Eid, at a mosque in Kathmandu, Nepal, on May 28, 2026. Eid al-Adha is one of the holiest festivals in Islam, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God before God provided a ram to sacrifice instead. The festival is observed with special congregational prayers, the ritual sacrifice of animals, charitable donations to the poor, and gatherings with family and community members.
