Shravan Mela Festival

Indian Hindu kawariya pilgrims Sleep in a local train, in Kolkata, India, on August 8, 2016 during a trip to Tarakeswar. Over 100,000 people were in a queue, many waiting since Sunday night to get into the famous Baidyanath Temple, when the stampede took place. During 'Shravan' month of the Hindu calendar, more than 30 lakh people offer prayers at the temple. On Mondays which are considered auspicious, the number goes up substantially up to two lakh.
