Baya Weaver Nest Construction

A Baya Weaver bird builds a nest in a tree on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal, on June 2, 2026. Males weave intricate hanging nests from grass fibers to attract females during the breeding season. Baya Weaver birds are still found in Nepal's lowlands and agricultural areas, but their populations face pressure from habitat loss, wetland degradation, pesticide use, and urban expansion.
