Suffolk County Police work at the scene where two people are shot overnight in the area of Woodside Drive in Mastic Beach, Long Island, New York, on June 2, 2026. Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives investigate a shooting that injures two people in Mastic Beach. A group of people argue in front of 96 Woodside Road when a man draws a handgun and fires several shots at two individuals involved at approximately 10 p.m. The shooter flees the scene. The victims, a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, are transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A large police response, including officers with the Crime Scene Unit, responds to the scene to investigate the incident, which takes place Monday evening after 10:00 PM.
