Measles Outbreak Continues To Increase In Bangladesh

Children infected with measles receive treatment at children's hospitals in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on June 8, 2026. The measles outbreak in Bangladesh continues to worsen, with the number of infected patients increasing in hospitals despite ongoing vaccination programs. Hospitals in the capital have become hotspots for measles transmission. Children visiting hospitals for treatment of cold and cough symptoms are becoming infected with measles. Parents of measles-infected children face challenges due to the shortage of ICU facilities and healthcare service management. In the past four months, more than 600 children have reportedly died after being infected with measles. (Photo by Maruf Rahman/NurPhoto)
