Protest In Indian Kashmir Over Civilian Killings In Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir

Members of the Association of Terror Victims in Kashmir (ATVK) hold a banner during a protest near the Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on June 11, 2026. The group stages a demonstration regarding the reported killing of civilians in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and raises slogans against Pakistan's Army Chief Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to reports, at least 15 people, including 11 civilians and four security personnel, are killed in clashes between protesters and security forces in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). The protests follow a call by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), a coalition of activist groups, urging people to march to the regional capital, Muzaffarabad, in opposition to the reservation of 12 seats for refugees in upcoming elections.
