Meeting On Safeguarding Democratic Debates Against Foreign Interference At Matignon Hotel

French centre-right party MoDem MPs Christophe Blanchet, Marc Fesneau, and Florent Boudie, a member of the Ensemble Pour la Republique parliamentary group and President of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Legislation and General Administration of the Republic, arrive at a meeting with France's Prime Minister. The meeting gathers representatives from several political parties and security institutions to discuss safeguarding democratic debates against foreign interference. This follows a probe opened by Paris prosecutors in May to investigate whether an Israeli company interfered in local French elections. The case was initiated after several far-left candidates claimed they were targeted by disinformation campaigns. France's government body responsible for combatting online disinformation, Viginum, reported a system of artificial or automated dissemination spreading inaccurate or misleading content.
