Inaugural Flyover Of Poland's F-35 Husarz Jets

People gather and look up at the sky as they wait for two fifth-generation F-35A Lightning II jets to fly over Warsaw, Poland, on June 12, 2026. The flyover, part of a public event called ''Welcome to Poland,'' showcases the Polish military's new aircraft to the public for the first time. The F-35s, locally designated F-35PL ''Husarz'' (Hussar) after Poland's historic winged cavalry, were delivered to the Polish Air Force under a 4.6 billion dollar deal with the United States for 32 aircraft signed in 2020. Taking off from the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Lask, the jets fly over the cities of Gdansk, Warsaw, and Krakow before returning to base. (Photo by Marek Antoni Iwanczuk/NurPhoto)
