Volunteers remove debris at Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv
An iron fence is wrapped around a tree at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv, Ukraine, on June 19, 2026. The fence was displaced by a shockwave from a Russian military operation. The studio sustained considerable damage during the large-scale missile and drone operation on the capital on June 15. The costume shop, which housed the largest and oldest costume collection in Ukraine, suffered the most destruction. Its storage contained around 100,000 costumes created for films across different decades, as well as approximately three million pieces of props. Other buildings of the film studio were also damaged.
