Indian Mango - Mango Export
Mango farmers and pickers cut the stalks of mangoes to let the sap drain and arrange them in rows on a jute sack in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on May 26, 2026. Some of the skin is peeled back to check if the fruit is in good condition before being stored and exported. India leads the world in mango production, accounting for over 40% of global output, and generates the highest export value per kilogram. The sap, which contains urushiol, is drained to prevent sap injury and to avoid feeding decay-causing bacteria and fungi during transport and storage. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
