Wildfire Management In Solska Wilderness
Cut trees, truck tire tracks and scorched ground seen after wildfires swept through parts of Solska wilderness near Bilgoraj, Poland on July 16, 2026. Wildfires that started at the beginning of May in Solska Wilderness have damaged 1157 hectare of forest in southeastern Poland, threatening local ecosystems and requiring extensive firefighting operations during periods of drought and unusual Spring heat. The local forest district administration of National Forests classified 3 zones of burned forest of which part is destined to be cut and recultivated whereas other zones will be monitored to allow natural regeneration of the tree stand.
