Monsoon clouds shroud the hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley as rain continues in Nepal. Monsoon winds are active across Nepal, with the monsoon trough positioned north of its average location, according to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The Department said the weather is generally to mostly cloudy nationwide. Moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some mountainous regions, while many hilly areas are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms.
