Lukianivka neighbourhood in Kyiv recovers from massive Russian attack
Municipal workers set up a temporary zebra crossing to replace the underground passage near the Lukianivska metro station that was damaged by the recent attack, Kyiv, Ukraine, on July 21, 2026. On Sunday night, July 19, 2026, Russia launched a missile strike on the Ukrainian capital. The Lukianivka historical neighbourhood was hit again. The strike damaged the Lukianivska metro station, its vestibule and foyer, and wrecked the Lukianivka market. The underground passage on Yuriia Illienka Street was also directly struck.
