Floods Threat Looms Over Kashmir, India

Heavy rainfall across Kashmir has caused a sharp rise in the water levels of rivers and streams, prompting authorities to close the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. At least 25 people were killed in floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain across northern and northeastern India over the weekend, officials said on Monday, with more heavy rainfall forecast in the coming days.
