Heavy rainfall across Kashmir has caused a sharp rise in the water levels of rivers and streams. The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast rain and thundershowers at many places across the region. At least 25 people were killed in floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain across northern and northeastern India over the weekend, officials said on Monday, with more heavy rainfall forecast in the coming days. In Jammu and Kashmir, at least 15 people were killed in separate rain-related incidents in the Poonch, Rajouri, and Doda districts, while several others were reported missing.
