Residents Evacuate Marcheprime As Gironde Wildfire Spreads Near Bordeaux
Residents evacuate the town of Marcheprime after French authorities ordered a precautionary evacuation as a major wildfire continued to spread across the Gironde department in southwestern France, near Bordeaux, on July 25, 2026. The blaze, fuelled by high temperatures, dry conditions and strong winds, has forced the evacuation of several communities and prompted the deployment of hundreds of firefighters, aerial firefighting aircraft and civil protection teams to contain the fire.
