Daily life in Azerbaijan

An old woman enters the door of her house in Anig, Qusar district, Azerbaijan, on 6 October 2016. There are few old dwelling houses in Anig. These buildings have large wooden gates; presumably, they were used for keeping horses. People use only the small door in the gates and never open the gates as they don’t have horses anymore. Such houses have 2 floors, like all traditional houses in the mountain villages in Qusar district. The first floor is used for storing products and keeping poultry, the second floor is a living place. ( (Photo by Oleksandr Rupeta/NurPhoto))
