Amsterdam stands with Standing Rock Indian Reservation
The NGO "MAD Mothers" and the Indigenous movement called for a protest march in support of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. The march took place on November 7 in Amsterdam. The Standing Rock Sioux tribe believes that the pipeline would put the Missouri River, the water source for the reservation, at risk. Peaceful protests continued and drew indigenous people from throughout North America, as well as other supporters. The Dakota Access Pipeline, a part of the Bakken pipeline project, is a 1,825 km underground oil pipeline project in the United States. (Photo by Romy Arroyo Fernandez/NurPhoto)
