PEGIDA demonstration in Munich

Pegida activist Dan Eising during a protest on Monday 7th November 2016 again to their weekly demonstration. This week the demonstration was held again in front of the Feldherrnhalle at the Odeonsplatz which was a historical place during the Nazi era. In the beginning a group of several Neonazis charged into the counter protest, including the convicted right wing extremist and terrorist Karl-Heinz Statzberger. During the PEGIDA demonstration counter protestors tried to block the road with civil unrest several times. Police pushed protestors back with force and used batons against them. At the Pegida rally Munich city councilman Karl Richter spoke who is a member of the right wing party Bürgerinitiative Ausländerstopp. (Photo by David Speier/NurPhoto)
