St. John Orthodox Church in Muszynka, Poland

Muszynka, Poland 13th, November 2016 St. John Orthodox Church in Muszynka in winter scenery is seen. The Filial Greek Catholic Church of St. John the Evangelist in Muszynka (currently a Filial Roman Catholic Church) was erected in the C18th using log construction. The individual sections of the church are square, and the chancel is closed on three sides, with the sacristy on the north side. The ornamental polychrome dates from the turn of the C20th. Next to the C18th iconostasis there are two side altars; the south one is late-baroque from the end of the C17th with a painting of Madonna with Child, while the north, rococo one is from the C18th and has sculptures of St. Peter and St. Paul and a painting of St. Barbara (traditionally said to have been donated by the Bar Confederates). The church is part of the The Wooden Architecture Route in Malopolska. (Photo by Michal Fludra/NurPhoto)
