Demonstrations In Kashmir On World Human Rights Day
Relative of a disappeared Kashmiri muslim takes part in a sit-in protest to mark International Human Rights Day in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, 10 December 2016 to mark the World Human Rights in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir State, India. The protest was organized by Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) seeking the whereabouts of their missing relatives, who have allegedly disappeared in custody since a separatist rebellion broke out in 1989. . The group says that 8,000 people are missing since the insurgency began and they believe most have been taken by Indian forces and never returned. Since 1989, Kashmir has been a state under siege, with both India and Pakistan laying claim to it.
