Antisana volcano in the Ecuadorean province of Pichincha
Picture show an Ecuadorean man of the province of Pichincha, taken on December 13, 2016. Seeing it clear is not a privilege every day, let alone in December. However, this weekend the Antisana volcano, located an hour from the city of Quito, was left to be seen in its entirety. Tourists who entered the national park were thrilled to see the imposing colossus clear. As if that were not enough, the site also includes La Mica lagoon, which supplies drinking water to the south and center of Quito. There hundreds of ducks offer another spectacle to the visitor, while they swim and even make short flights on the lake. And what to say about wildlife such as falcons, condors, deer, ducks, among other species, that live in the páramo that become another attraction of this natural park. To enter the area must be well sheltered, as it is at 5,704 meters above sea level and runs very windy. 30 kilometers away is located a checkpoint, where they check the entrance of tourists and check that they do not enter with pets. The entrance has no cost and can do it from 08:00 to 14:00, while the departure will be maximum until 17:00. Within the reserve there are no restaurants, but on the way from Píntag, rural parish of Quito, there are several restaurants, stands and haciendas where you can taste rich chicken broths, choclo with cheese and beans, as well as other dishes typical of the area.
