Roda de Samba Pedra do Sal - Brazilian Culture
Samba is part of the Carioca culture and one of the most traditional city of samba circles happens in Pedra do Sal, where in the past, there was a slave market. It also was a point where the stevedores unloading salt brought from the boats anchored nearby. In place gathered great musicians of samba, which entered the history of Brazilian music, such as Pixinguinha, Heitor dos Prazeres, Donga and João da Baiana. Currently, the place is an important tourist spot in the port region of Rio and also a point of cultural resistance, where the Afro-Brazilian culture is presented to the locals and tourists who frequent the place.
