State funeral held for Greece's murdered ambassador in Brazil, Kyriakos Amiridis

Funeral of Greece’s Ambassador to Brazil Kyriakos Amiridis in Thessaloniki, Greece on January 15, 2017.The ambassador of Greece in Brazil was buried with full military and civilan honors ,from as state funeral because he was an active Ambassador of Greece in Brazil. Kyriakos Amiridis was murdered the past weeks in Brazil. He dissappeared on December 26 in Nova Iguacu close to Rio de Janeiro. His charred body was found in a car a few days later. Brazilian police say they believe he was killed by his wife's lover under her orders. Those two and a third person have been arrested. The coffin of the Greek Ambassador in Brazil, Kyriakos Amiridis is carried out of the church were the funeral ceremony took place. The coffin is honory covered by the greek flag and his funeral took place as state hold funeral with honors as it was an active minister. The mother of the Kyriakos Amiridis, Polymnia Amiridou was carried in a wheelchair during the ceremony. Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Amanatidis recalled Amiridis' work in his eulogy honoring the ambassador.
