Civil Rights Activists March On Washington To Commemorate Martin Luther King Jr
On Saturday, January 14, 2017, in Washington, DC, about 2,000 gathered on a cold rainy morning for the “We Shall Not Be Moved” march, organized by Rev. Al Sharpton’s organization, National Action Network (NAN). The morning started with remarks at the Sylvan Theater stage on the Washington Monument grounds, and culminated with a march which ended in the park across the street for the MLK Memorial with closing remarks from Sharpton and other Civil Rights leaders and advocates.
