Two year old girl killed in a shootout in Rio de Janeiro
Mother of Sofia Lara Braga, during the funeral. Sofia Lara Braga, a 2-year-old girl, was shot and killed while playing in the recreation area of a restaurant in the Irajá neighborhood, north of Rio de Janeiro. The shooting that struck the girl was fired during a police chase to thugs who were in a car and tried to flee through the streets of the neighborhood. The crime had a great social repercussion throughout Brazil. The child came to be rescued, but died before reaching the hospital. The crime occurred on Saturday night (21) and the funeral was held on Sunday, January 23, 2017 at Iraja Cemetery, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. (Photo by Luiz Souza/NurPhoto)
