Festival of Thaipusam in Kuala Lumpur
Tamilians sharply pierced with an iron beak sharply while celebrating Thaipusam festival in Batu caves on February 04, 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Thaipusam is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil Thai month during January or February to commemorates the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a 'spear' so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman. This is particularly noticeable in countries where there is a significant presence of Tamil society like India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Guadalupe, Reunion, Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar.
