Military will not strengthen safety of Rio de Janeiro Carnival

The Brazilian Federal Government did not authorize thousands of military personnel who reinforced the safety of the city of Rio de Janeiro to be used to increase the safety of cariocas and tourists during the Rio Carnival. Carnival Carioca officially begins on Friday (February 24 ), But today was the last day that the military operated in the city. More than 1 million Brazilian and foreign tourists are expected for the festivities and the population fears for its safety. In this image, Marines patrol the last day, the Olympic Boulevard (place used as a recreational area for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, which is currently one of the main sights of downtown Rio and disembarkation point for cruise ships).
