Villagers masked as peliqueiros run through the streets of Laza during carnival on February 26, 2017 The Carnival of Laza (in Galician, Entroido de Laza) is a traditional holiday that during the days before Ash Wednesday is held in the town of Laza (Orense) Spain. It is considered the Carnival with greater antiquity and splendor of Galicia. On Sunday morning we find the peliqueiros with characteristic costumes, cowbells at the waist, a mask that covers their faces and in their hand a whip, these are the main characters of the Carnival of Laza.
