Refugee camp between Gori and the South Ossetia, Georgia
A view of refugee camp between Gori and the South Ossetia, Georgia, on March 17, 2017. Refugee camps around the city of Gori, near South Ossetia region, created after the 2008 conflict. About 160.000 people left South Ossetia that time plus 220.000 more refugees previously. There is a buffer zone between South Ossetia and Gori. The tents in the camp have been changed to small houses. Nowadays there are many little refugee villages around Gori. In Georgia fled the refugees with Georgian origins, that are stateless now. Also refugees with Russian origin fled to Russian Federation. Many refugees have been also hosted from relatives out of the region of Ossetia. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
