Melasti Ritual for Purification to Welcoming the Day of Silence in Bali

Balinese are getting ready to welcome Nyepi, the Day of Silence in Bali, which will be held on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017, and the day after is Caka New Year 1939. Earlier by three days, they held a ceremony named Melasti on the beaches all around Bali. Melasti is a Hindu Balinese Purification Ritual to cleanse themselves and the world from sins and bad things. Through the sea water on the beaches, Balinese believe that something bad inside them should be cleaned, and they hope they could become a better person for the next year.
