Olympic Park Rio 2016 has been transformed into a leisure area but few people use it

The Velodrome of the Olympic Park needs to be under 24-hour air-conditioning cooling since it was inaugurated. This occurs because the heat of the region could damage the imported wood used in the construction of the speed cycling lanes. Built to host most of the competitions during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Olympic Park has been transformed into a leisure area and is under the management of the Brazilian Federal Ministry of Sports. However, the site remains mostly empty because few people use the space because of lack of structure. There are no public restrooms or drinking fountains for use by the public and not even places for food like foodtrucks or snack bars. Despite this, the place is very well taken care of, with private security guards and security guards of the Municipal Guard. The place serves as a leisure area only on weekends.
