Protest against eviction and gentrification in Berlin
A banner reading 'Who is this 'property'? Whe don't need landlords since the houses belong to us. Stop our eviction, Build the city from down' is pictured during a gathering of solidarity to the tenants of the 'Kiezladen F54' and of protest against gentrification in the district of Neukoelln in Berlin, Germany on April 9, 2017. After the termination of the lease contract and a judicial trial the left-wing housold is likely going to be evicted from the police in the next months. The shortage of living space and the extreme increase of the rent in the last years (statistics speak of about 100% since 2009 for the district of Neukoelln) keeps generating situations of unrest in the city.
