Hindus celebrate the Siva Ther Thiruvilaa Festival
Idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati adorned in green during the Siva Ther Thiruvilaa Festival at a Tamil Hindu temple in Ontario, Canada, on May 20, 2017. The idols are adorned in green which is said to calm the deities from all the excitement experienced from completing the exterior tour of the temple. During this festival the idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are placed in a large wooden chariot that is pulled by devotees around the temple as prayers are performed by Hindu priests.
