Daily life in Brest, Belarus

The central station in seen early in the morning of 1 June, 2017. As the city is situated next to the Polish border it has become a hub for persons from former Soviet states seeking to gain access to the EU. Every weekday dozens of citizens of Chechnya, mainly women and young children take the train from Brest to Terespol in Poland and ask asylum claiming life threatening conditions following persecution from the current Chechen regime.
