Indonesian Chinese community raised the statue of the god in the Hungry Ghost Festival celebration held at East Mountain monastery in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, 10 August 2014 Hungry Ghost Festival celebration in the Chinese tradition is the ceremonial feeding ancestors and their ancestors are held every seventh month Chinese calendar. The celebration was marked by the burning of houses, cars, and money is made of paper. In their belief, It is believed that the gates of hell are opened during the month and the dead ancestors return to visit their relatives.
