Protest Against Turkey's Education System
People gathered in front of the Ministry of National Education to protest against Turkey's new education system in Ankara, Turkey on August 03, 2017. In July, the Ministry of National Education announced that the new curriculum will include the July 15, 2016 failed coup attempt and the following Democracy and National Unity Day along with the Islamic jihad in schools from this year. It also includes that schools will not be teaching Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder and the first president of Republic of Turkey, in religious culture and moral knowledge lessons, and Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution along with the less lessons on biological science.
