Indians occupied the seat of the Presidency of the Republic on Avenida Paulista, central region of São Paulo, on August 30, 2017. The aim of the demonstrators is to request the revocation of the Ministry of Justice decree that annulled the declaration of the Jaraguá Indigenous Land in the north of São Paulo. The portfolio annulled the directive nº 581, of 2015, that guaranteed more than 500 hectares of land to the guaranis. To do so, he alleged "administrative error in the initial procedure, which resulted in a demand to change the size of indigenous land to 512 hectares." The text also says that the area "was demarcated without the participation of the State of São Paulo in the joint definition of forms Of area use ".
