Confrontation between Antifa and far right groups in Enschede
Hundreds of members of far right movements in Europe, like Hogesa (Hooligans against Salafists), and Pegida (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West), held a demonstration starting at the Villa de Bank in Enschede, Netherlands, on 17 September 2017. At the same time counter demonstrators from Antifa group held signs, gestured towards far-right protesters and tried to stop the far right demonstration. After several hours of tension and with both sides separated by battalions of riot police, the violence broke out, leaving as a result several injured as well as some people arrested.
