First Friday of Muharram
One of the shows as a part of the Carnival is to hold the religious monument and turning it around in Tehran, Iran on September 22, 2017. Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is held to be the second holiest month for muslims. According Wikipidea Shia Muslims during Muharram do different things and with different intentions. Shia Muslims observe and respect Muharram as the month that martyred Hussein ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad and son of Ali, in the Battle of Karbala. Shiite begin mourning from the first night of Muharram and continue for ten nights, climaxing on the 10th of Muharram, known as the Day of AshuraIn Iran, which has the biggest number of Shita muslims, Muharram is being respected and many festivals are being held in this month.Mainly young people organize the events, participating in the activities such as serving people tea and coffee on the street, cooking food over night and serving people in the morning, playing the musical instruments in the carnivals and many other activities related to this event.
