Spanish culture - The Last Landing Of Carlos V

A representative of the Villa of Laredo, he spelled out the delivery of the keys and a text to the emperor Carlos V in the representation of the last landing of Carlos V in Laredo, Spain, on 24 September 2017. The 24 Spanish municipalities in which the Emperor Charles I of Spain and V of the Holy Roman Emperor spent his last trip to the monastery of Yuste (Cáceres) have joined together in a joint project called the Route of Charles V. Carlos V landed on September 28, 1556 in Laredo (Cantabria), seven days later began his journey to the Monastery of Yuste, where he arrived on February 5, 1557 after more than five months of travel. The localities that are included in this route celebrate acts like medieval markets or recreations of the trip of the emperor. The recreation begins with the arrival of the monarch to Laredo by boat to Playa de la Salvé. (Photo by Joaquin Gomez Sastre/NurPhoto)
