Students demonstrate in memory of Alexis Grigoropoulos
Police officers walk alongside the demonstration in the center of Thessaloniki. Hundreds of students demonstrated today in the center of Thessaloniki in memory of the 15 year old student Alexis Grigoropoulos , who was shot dead by a police officer in Athens five years ago. On 6th of December in 2008 Alexis Grigoropoulos, a fifteen year old student was shot dead by a police officer in Exarcheia district of central Athens. The killing of Alexis resulted in numerous demonstrations and violent clashes with the police forces. The demonstrations soon spread in many Greek and European cities.
