Archaelogical site and ruins of gates and columns of the Persian Achaemenid dynasty ancient capital city of Takht-e Jamshid, or Persepolis, destroyed by Alexander the Great, the Greek Macedonian king, a UNESCO World Heritage site and touristic landmark of Iran, near the southern city of Shiraz in Fars province.
