Eviction in Spain

34-year-old John Jairo Nanez Betancur from Colombia passes next to a riot police van carrying his belonglings after he was evicted from his home in Madrid, Spain, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013. John Nanez Betancur became unemployed after losing his job. He bought a euro 213.000 ($ 291.360) apartment by taking a mortgage with Bankia bank in 2005 but stopped paying due to his financial situation in 2010. He lived in the apartment with Jose Arcila 50 years old, his wife Betsi Ojeda, 33 years old, both unemployed, and Betsi's daughter, Nicole Marin, 4 years old. The eviction was executed in spite of the opposition of Victims' Mortgage Platform's activists. Photo: Rodrigo Garcia/NurPhoto
