Major fire hits slum in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Residents observe the firefighters trying to contain a major fire that hit a slum located in the Campo Belo neighborhood on the Journalista Roberto Marinho Avenue in the south zone of Sao Paulo, Brazil on the early hours of September 8, 2014. It is estimated that at least 500 homes were destroyed by the fire, leaving about 2,500 residents homeless. Firefighters managed to contain the fire and no one was seriously injured, only one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
