Jakarta Transportation Department officers dismantle traffic signs that prohibit two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles) passing on Jalan Mh. Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. The demolition of traffic signs, following a Supreme Court ruling that granted the petition for judicial review of two citizens, Yuliansah and Diki, who felt harmed by the motorcycle banning regulations to cross the protocol road MH. Thamrin and Medan Merdeka Barat, by canceling the regulation. For information, the banning rules passed for motorcyclists were made during the administration of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in December, 2014. The regulation was made with the reason to reduce congestion and reduce the number of accidents in the center of Jakarta Capital. However, some people think the regulation is contrary to the value of justice, and tends to be discriminatory for motorcyclists who are mostly lower middle class. (Photo by Aditya Irawan/NurPhoto)
