Trans Maldivian Airways
Trans Maldivian Airways is the largest seaplane operator in the world with 46 airplanes. Main hub for TMA is in Velana Airport and the water airport near Male. Seaplanes help the locals and the tourists to reduce travel time to the island resorts as some Atolls are far from Male International Airport. The seaplanes are landing and taking off from just a platform a few meters away from the beach. In Male there is a big hub and a seaplane terminal. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
