The Machapuchare mountain peak in Nepal
The Machapuchare mountain in Nepal, in the Annapurna Himalayas region in Nepal. It's nickname is Matternhorn of Nepal. The name Machapuchare in Nepali means fish tail from the double summit. Images are from the wider area of Pokhara, Phewa lake and the hill of World Peace Pagoda. It was never climbed and now is forbidden as it is dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva. Many tourists do paragliding, helicopter or airplane tours around the mountain. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
